TabTrade - Is It Worth Opening an Account
The Broker - The Short Version
TabTrade went live in Q1 2026. CFD broker based in Saint Lucia, regulated by Saint Lucia's FSRA. The founder is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was on the executive team at BlackBull Markets, an FMA-regulated broker.
The BlackBull connection is relevant. It says the person running this is not figuring it out from scratch. Does not guarantee anything. Still more reassuring than a founder with no industry background.
TabTrade came out of the gate with Equinix data centre access in London. Same facilities prime brokers run on. Most new brokers starts with a white-label MT4 setup. Tab Trade did the opposite. Not the typical playbook.
What you can trade: FX, stock indices, gold, silver, oil, energies, softs, stock CFDs, cryptocurrencies, ETFs. 1,000+. For a platform that is a few months old, the breadth is not narrow.
What You Trade On
They offer: MT5, cTrader, and a WebTrader. Both MT5 and cTrader from one account. Most brokers pick one platform. Access to both makes a difference. You are not locked into one.
MetaTrader 5 is the default. Complete charts, Expert Advisors, huge user base. If you know MT4 or MT5 before, you know exactly what you are getting.
cTrader by Spotware is the more modern one. Better depth of market. Faster charting. Built-in algo trading. Plenty of traders like it better than MT5 after using both.
FIX API is there for automated strategies but requires the VIP tier ($25,000 deposit). TradingView charting is apparently coming. That should make the platform set when it arrives.
Accounts and Pricing
Three tiers: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard. 1.0 pip spreads. No commission. Easy to track. Zero deposit requirement. Works for people who want simple pricing.
Edge account. Raw spreads from 0.0 pips average. Commission of $3.50 each way. What you actually pay: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On majors, the actual interbank spread is often below 0.2 pips. Meaning your real cost can be below 0.5 pips. That is good for an offshore broker. Most platforms that have spreads this tight ask for $500 or $1,000 upfront. This broker does not.
VIP. $25,000 minimum. FIX connectivity, execution under 20ms, negotiated fees. Not relevant to most retail traders. Skip it unless you move real size.
Infrastructure
This is where TabTrade separates from most new launches. Equinix servers in London. Execution below 30 milliseconds on Edge. Sub-20ms on VIP. These are proper execution targets. The average platform run 100ms to 300ms.
Should you care? If you scalp, absolutely. The gap between a 30ms fill and a 200ms fill is catching the move or missing it. If you hold positions longer, it matters less. What matters is they invested in proper execution. That signals something about priorities.
Combine that execution speed with the Edge account pricing and the total package holds up. Not many platforms with no minimum deposit run Equinix connectivity.
Regulation
This is the part you need to be straight about. The broker is licensed by the FSRA in Saint Lucia. That is offshore. No CySEC. No government-backed safety net. If the lack of tier-1 regulation is a problem for you, look elsewhere. Lots of ASIC-licensed brokers out there.
That said. The founder spent years at BlackBull Markets, an FMA-regulated broker. The execution setup is not cheap. Fly-by-night platforms do not invest in Equinix connectivity. None of this guarantee anything. It does factor into your decision.
The trade-off: no FCA or ASIC safety net. For that: high leverage, raw pricing from 0.0 pips, $0 to start, fast fills. Whether that makes sense comes down to your priorities.
